ettain group has an immediate direct hire opening for a Java/UI Developer in Reston, VA. Our client is a dynamic online advertising company. The position will play a crucial role in the company’s unique data-driven opinion-based advertising engine. The Java/UI Developer will be responsible for design and implementation of the online platform. This company has a diverse technical environment, using Flex, JSP, jQuery for front end development, Spring framework, Core Java, and MySQL on the back end.

Responsibilities

Pioneer the continual design of the online platform while implementing new functionality

Provide high level documentation for the platform design on the front end of the application

Work to achieve optimal application performance and scalability

Help to define standards within the project and to drive code reviews

Experience Requirements

3 + years experience in launching successful interactive web applications as a key member of a web development, application development, or user experience team.

Experience in one of the following required: GWT, Flex, or AIR (Google Web Toolkit Ext-GWT and Flex preferred)

Previous experience working with in a Java/J2EE environment using Struts or Spring.

Experience with short (Agile, Scrum, Iterative) software lifecycles

Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software development principles.

Strong understanding of web-based architecture in two or more of the following: web servers, load balancing, caching, databases, replication

Experience in advertising network, digital media agency, or other advertising related experience is a bonus

Solid working knowledge of Subversion and Maven

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required

Master’s Degree preferred
